In Rapa Nui, there’s a profound magic in the idea that there is no single way to do things. If there were only one method, we would all be the same, and our lives would lack the richness, beauty, and texture that make our experiences truly unique. It’s this diversity that infuses life with its captivating charm.
Some might gaze upon our ranch and think, “That’s the wrong way,” or “Surely, there’s a better method.” These judgments often stem from a perspective that assumes one way is the only way. But that has never been my experience. Life is a tapestry woven from different threads, each contributing to a broader understanding of what it means to live fully.
As I embark on this series about my life here in Rapa Nui, I want to preface it with a gentle reminder. I’ll be sharing stories from my journey, which straddles two very different worlds. I understand that the inclination to judge may arise as you read, but I invite you to approach these narratives with an open heart and mind.
Can’t wait to share more.
